United Seed Growers:
We have achieved 29,028 acres which constitutes our 80% goal of Idaho
Seed
acres by the 24th day of February. Now we have the opportunity to go
forward with our programs.
Tomorrow, the 25th, we will be presenting to the United Fresh Potato
Growers
of Idaho's Board of Directors for approval, the policies and procedures
for
our quality enhancement and price model programs. Once we have Board
approval, we will be notifying all member growers of a meeting to be
held
this coming week. At this meeting we will explain seed district
programs
and will ask for approval of the policies and procedures pertaining to
the
programs.
It will be important for all member seed growers to attend the meeting
next
week in order to have an understanding of the programs and their
policies
and procedures. This should allow us to work together to achieve
stability
in the seed market.
We have a great opportunity to manage our seed businesses like any
other
business in order to realize a profit.

The Board of Directors for United Fresh Potato Growers of Idaho passed a motion unanimously
in support of the QEP seed B market and the price model with the additions of item 6 on
price model for honoring preexisting contracts.
