Seed Growers Join PMC With Own Diversion Plan

With the over supply of potatoes on the market Idaho Seed Growers voted after the Idaho Seed Potato Growers Seminar January 16 to join the Potato Management Company (PMC) and divert 7% of their marketable seed into the program. This excerpt is taken from their contract:

Member hereby agrees to market through PMC during the first year of this Agreement, a minimum of seven percent (7%) of Member’s seed potatoes form the 2000 crop. Participation will be based upon members total acreage in the 2000 Idaho Certified Seed Growers Directory with production estimated at 200 cwt. per acre for any variety or generation.
